A woman was fatally stabbed in north Charlotte, and a man was shot to death outside Blue Olive Lounge in Ballantyne in south Charlotte early Saturday.

One man was killed in a fiery crash early Sunday on The Plaza, near East Sugar Creek Road in east Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.

Rashad Lamar Waller, 28, was driving a Chevrolet Impala around 4:30 a.m. when the car crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and then hit a utility pole on the side of the road, police said.

Then the car went back into the road and flipped, catching on fire, police said.

Waller was ejected from the car, and police believe another car hit him after that. Police haven’t released a description of the second car.

Waller’s two adult male passengers had minor injuries, police said.

Police found that speed was a contributing factor in the crash, and detectives are still investigating whether alcohol was involved.

Anyone with information about the second car should call Detective Bush with the Major Crash Investigation Unit at 704-432-2169.
