Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office

A woman has been charged with second-degree murder after police say she was involved in a deadly crash Wednesday morning, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police news release.

Larry Eugene Morrow, 64, was killed in the crash, which happened near the intersection of Eastway Drive and Central Avenue just after 4:30 a.m., police said.

Police said the woman, 36-year-old Marla Ann Sadowski, ran a red light and crashed into Morrow’s car as he crossed the intersection on a green light.

She has been charged with second-degree murder and driving while impaired, police said.

Sadowski was briefly hospitalized Wednesday and then taken to the jail.

She pleaded guilty to driving while impaired in 2002 and again in 2005, according to court records.
