Police identify man found dead by family Sunday in an east Charlotte home
A man was found dead in a southeast Charlotte home Sunday, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating, according to a news release.
Police and Medic responded to the home on Old House Circle, which is off Margaret Wallace Road near Matthews, around noon Sunday.
The victim was identified as Keith Greenwald, 54, by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, who said the medical examiner had yet to finish an investigation.
The Observer’s news partner WBTV talked to the man’s neighbors, who said he lived alone.
“He was the kind of neighbor you’d wanna have in your neighborhood,” Cheryl Samuel told WBTV. “He and I have been neighbors for 30 years. He was a very quiet discreet person but he was friendly with the people he was familiar with.”
WSOC reports a member of Greenwald’s family called police around noon Sunday.
Greenwald’s body was found inside the home, and pronounced dead at the scene, according to WCNC. A cause of death has not been revealed, reported WCNC.
