Hickory police have issued arrest warrants for a man wanted in the shooting death late Monday of a 46-year-old woman from Georgia.
Police said they were called at about 11:40 p.m. to a home on Eighth Avenue Drive Southeast and found Lancelot Kenyatta Ellison unresponsive as a result of gunshot wounds. Officers administered CPR, but Ellison was later declared dead at the scene.
Police obtained warrants on Tevin Jerome Davis, 23, for first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping and felony robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Davis had been out on bond awaiting trial for multiple charges including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a firearm by a felon and common law robbery, police said.
Davis is considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts is advised not to approach him but to call 911 immediately.
