A woman was found dead in north Mecklenburg Tuesday morning and police are investigating to see if anything about her death was suspicious.
Investigators have not released the name of the woman. She was found just before noon with life-threatening injuries inside a home on Mallard Lake Road, in University City near where Interstate 485 meets North Tryon Street.
Investigators have not released the woman’s name or described her fatal injuries. They have also not released the name of a suspect in the case, which is still deemed a death investigation.
Officers were called to the home at 11:53 a.m. to assist paramedics. They found the woman with life-threatening injuries. First responders took her to Carolinas Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Police canvassed the neighborhood Tuesday afternoon to get more information. Crime scene investigators were also called to the scene to search for clues in the woman’s death.
