Concord police search for Waffle House robber

Concord police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed the Waffle House at 278 Concord Parkway South on Thursday night.

About 8:10 p.m., police said, a Waffle House worker stepped out the back door and was approached by a heavy set man with a handgun. The man forced the employee to enter the back door with him.

Once in the back of the building, police said, the man demanded the cash from the register. One of the employees retrieved the money and gave it to the suspect, who then left the restaurant, police said.

The robber is described as black, 5-feet-10 inches to 6-feet-tall and weighing 250 to 300 pounds. He was wearing a white zip-up sweat shirt, blue jeans and a black ball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 704-920-5000.
