Authorities arrested a Thomasville man in connection with sexual assaults of two children when he lived in eastern Rowan County.
Kevin Scott Rose, 34, was charged with five counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and eight counts of first-degree sexual offense of a victim under 13. Rose was jailed on $1.5 million bail.
The cases against Rose came to light after a girl heard a presentation called “Speak Up, Be Safe” by the Terrie Hess House Child Advocacy Council, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Tuesday. The girl came forward at school to report what happened to her, investigators said.
The victims knew the suspect and had spent time at his former home in eastern Rowan County, the sheriff’s office said.
