Police: 2 killed in northeast Charlotte shooting
Police are searching for a man they’re calling a person of interest in connection with the shooting deaths of two people in northeast Charlotte late Tuesday.
Shortly before midnight, police said, officers were called to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 4100 block of Atmore Street, off East Sugar Creek Road and The Plaza.
When they arrived, they found a man and a woman fatally shot. Medic pronounced the victims dead at the scene.
Police identified the victims as Matthew Daniel Brown, 26, and Mykeijaa Shanquial Tucker, 23.
Police were on the scene well into the morning hours.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department released a grainy video surveillance image of the man in hopes someone will recognize him. Police also were canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses.
