Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Friday they have charged a man in connection with a double homicide from Tuesday.
Joshua Lamar Brownlee, 24, of Charlotte was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Shortly before midnight Tuesday, officers were called to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 4100 block of Atmore Street off East Sugar Creek Road and The Plaza.
Authorities found the bodies of Matthew Daniel Brown, 26, and Mykeijaa Shanquial Tucker, 23, who were shot to death.

Brownlee was arrested without incident by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team.
There may be additional suspects involved in the case, police said.
And CMPD said it has interviewed a person of interest in the case.

Brownlee previously served four months in jail on a felony breaking and entering charge in 2012, records show, and also faces trial on a 2014 misdemeanor charge of assault on a female.
One of the victims, Brown, had a lengthy criminal record includes multiple drug charges, resisting an officer, larceny and weapon charges. He had pending drug charges as well as a court date to determine if he is a “habitual felon.”
