Teen, 15, held up a BP gas station in Charlotte, police say

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says officers have arrested and charged a 15-year-old in connection with an armed robbery at a gas station early Sunday morning near Park Road.

Police say the teen entered a BP gas station on Cambridge Commons Drive around 12:45 a.m. on Jan. 12. He had a gun and demanded property from an employee, police said.

During the robbery, police said the suspect fired the gun multiple times and one employee was injured but is expected to recover.

The teen’s name was not released. CMPD officers arrested him quickly after the incident, officials said.

He has been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon, officials said.

The investigation is ongoing. Police ask that anyone with information about the incident call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
