Huntersville police are searching for a gunman they said broke into a home with people inside Friday in the 7600 block of Horseshoe Creek Drive, off Beatties Ford Road.
Police said the man ran from the home and is believed to be armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.
The man is described as black, 20 to 30 years old, 6-feet to 6-feet-2-inches tall, and heavy-set at 180 to 210 pounds.
He wore a tan Polo baseball hat with a blue Polo insignia, a black Polo short-sleeve crew neck shirt with a red Polo insignia on the left waist area, black knee-length gym shorts, and black and gray Nike Air Max tennis shoes. He had a black Adidas drawstring bag.
