2 bodies found shot, burned in SC IDed as Gastonia men
Two Gastonia men were found dead in a burning truck outside of Hickory Grove on Friday, according to the York County coroner.
The tentative identification of the deceased, according to York County Coroner Sabrina Gast, are Aron Lucas Young, 35, and Jerry Dwayne Farmer, 43, Both of the bodies were transported to Charleston for autopsy on Saturday morning.
The case is being investigation as a homicide, Gast said.
Gast said the bodies were badly burned and positive identification will need to be conducted through DNA
Police earlier said the two men were from North Carolina and were shot and killed in a drug deal gone bad as early as Tuesday in Blacksburg in Cherokee County. They were later dumped in western York County on Bonner Horton Road in an attempt to conceal and cover up the killings.
Charged with murder are Donald Edward Creswell Jr., 45, and Steven Eugene Parker, 33, both of Blacksburg.
