CMPD finds shooting victim dead in northeast Charlotte, investigation underway

Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a victim found Sunday morning near the 1500 block of East Sugar Creek Road in northeast Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.

Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a victim found Sunday morning near the 1500 block of East Sugar Creek Road in northeast Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.

It’s the 33rd homicide of 2020 in Charlotte.

Officers responding to reports of a shooting found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, just after 6:30 a.m. Police did not release the person’s name.
