Charlotte’s latest homicide played out late Thursday in a neighbor’s yard, CMPD says
A 23-year-old man died late Thursday after being shot multiple times in someone’s yard in southeast Charlotte’s Steel Creek area, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
The victim was identified early Friday as Andrew Dion McCullough, CMPD said in an update.
Investigators say it happened in the 7500 block of Bramblewood Drive, near the intersection of Arrowood Road and South Tryon Street.
Someone in the area called 911 at 11:45 p.m., and told police they “observed a subject in their yard and heard gunshots being fired,” according to a press release.
“When the officers arrived, they located a male victim in the yard of the residence with multiple gunshot wounds,” the release said.
“MEDIC transported the victim to Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.”
CMPD has not said if it has a suspect.
