Two Mooresville men accused of trafficking opium
Two Mooresville men were arrested on drug trafficking charges Monday, after an eight-month undercover investigation into the illegal sale of opioid pain medications in Rowan County.
Ibn Khalif Thompson, 28, was charged with nine counts of trafficking opium/heroin and one count each of conspiracy to traffic opium/heroin, sell/deliver oxycodone and possess with intent to sell/deliver/manufacture oxycodone. Thompson was jailed on $250,000 bail.
Christian Raenard Carter, 22, was charged with conspiracy to traffic opium/heroin. Carte was jailed on a $25,000 bail.
The arrests followed undercover drug buys in November, December, May and June by Rowan County sheriff’s investigators, assisted by Mooresville police.
