Shelby murder suspect turns himself in
A Shelby murder suspect turned himself in to police Wednesday afternoon.
Calvin O’Brian Moore was wanted in connection with Tuesday night’s fatal shooting of 37-year-old Timothy Lamont Goodlett.
Police said Moore, 28, was taken to the Cleveland County Detention Center without bond after turning himself in about 4 p.m.
Police found Goodlett in a yard in the 700 block of Buffalo Street at about 9 p.m. Tuesday. He had multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Cleveland Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
Police obtained warrants charging Moore with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Moore is accused of approaching Goodlett in the yard of a home near Truman Street and shooting at him.
Goodlett ran toward Douglas Street as the gunman continued shooting, police said, then ran to the yard on Buffalo Street before collapsing.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-481-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous, police said.
