Man shot to death at Gastonia bar

Police in Gastonia are investigating the shooting death of a man at a bar.

Police told local media outlets that the shooting happened around 1:45 a.m. Sunday outside the Rock House Tavern on Aberdeen Boulevard, according to the Gaston Gazette.

Twenty-seven-year-old Christopher O'Bryan Brazil was taken to a Gastonia hospital where he died.

Witnesses said they heard several shots.

Thirty-three-year-old Corrie Derel Odems has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He’s being held in the Gaston County jail. It was not clear if he has an attorney yet.

Police have not released details in the shooting.
