11-year-old Charlotte girl returns home after being reported missing, police say

An 11-year-old Charlotte girl who had been missing since Friday morning has been found and returned home, police said.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police asked the public for help Wednesday in its search for Jennifer Velasquez-Cruz. She was last seen at 6 a.m. at her east Charlotte home in the 2700 block of Oak Valley Lane, according to a CMPD news release.

Jennifer “was recovered safely,” police said on Twitter on Thursday morning.
