Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they found a body in a creek at McAlpine Creek Park during a search for a missing person Wednesday afternoon.

The body has not been identified and a death investigation is ongoing, CMPD said in a statement.

In August, the body of another missing person, Matt Sullivan, 48, was found in the same park. No foul play was suspected in Sullivan’s death, CMPD said previously, and he was diagnosed with dementia before being declared missing.

Anyone with information about the current case can call 704-432-8477 and speak to a Homicide Unit detective. The public can also leave information anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or http://charlottecrimestoppers.com/.
