Statesville man accused of sexually assaulting child

A Statesville man was arrested and charged in connection with the sexual assault of a child.

Iredell County sheriff’s investigators charged William Glenn Johnson, 23, with indecent liberties with a child and first-degree sex offense with a child.

The charges stem from a June 25 incident at Johnson’s home, Sheriff Darren Campbell said.

Johnson was jailed on $100,000 bail.
