A 35-year-old Denver woman found dead in her front yard was murdered by a 30-year-old man who police say later shot himself and died by suicide.

Deborah Ana Jackson, the first victim, was shot in the head around 3:25 p.m., Monday at her home on Sherwood Lane, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Relatives found Jackson after they went looking for her because she had not picked up her children from school, sheriff’s office officials said.

The next day, investigators say, they found a second body in a pond near the crime scene. Authorities have since identified that person as Tyrone Herriott Jr., 30. According to the sheriff’s office, Herriott Jr. killed Jackson then himself.

Deputies found Herriott Jr. with a gun, according to a statement issued Wednesday.

Jackson has three daughters, ages seven, 10 and 11, according to a gofundme started for her family.

Herriott Jr.’s relationship to Jackson was not specified by the sheriff’s office.
