Charlotte YMCA staffer stopped man reportedly approaching kids outside, police say

A member of a Charlotte YMCA was accused of “juvenile enticement” after approaching two young children in the pickup line Wednesday, police said.

The man targeted two 5-year-olds — a girl and a boy — at Charlotte’s Keith Family YMCA Wednesday afternoon, according to police records. A YMCA staff member intervened, a police official confirmed.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Thursday identified and spoke to the man as a person of interest while investigating the incident.

Officials had not released any more information as of 1:00 p.m. Thursday. No arrest has been reported.
