Shooting into Charlotte home injures 4, including two teens

Four people, including two teenagers, are recovering after an overnight shooting into a home in north Charlotte.

The shooting happened at a home on the 5300 block of Park Brook Drive in the Allen Hills/Derita area. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the shooting just after midnight on Tuesday, according to the police report.

According to Medic, four of the victims were taken to the hospital. Two had life-threatening injuries and one had serious injuries. One of the injured victims was 14 years old, the others were 17 and 39 and a 40-year-old had minor injuries.

The police report lists 13 people who were in the home at the time, including teenagers and two toddlers.

The report says three people suffered gunshot wounds and one person had minor injuries.

Both a rifle and handgun were used in the shooting and multiple rounds were fired into the home, according to the police report.

CMPD did not respond to questions from the Observer asking for more details about the shooting.
