A 66- and 68-year-old woman were sexually assaulted on a Charlotte greenway while taking a walk over the weekend, according to police reports.

At 8:15 a.m. Saturday, the two women were walking on the McAlpine Creek Greenway when a man approached them, according to police.

The man, who police say was not known to the victims, exposed himself to them and then sexually assaulted at least one of the two women, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police report.

As of Monday afternoon, no arrests were reported. CMPD said in a statement to the public they are increasing patrol presence at all of Charlotte’s greenways in response to the incident.
