Body found in south Charlotte by patrolling officer, CMPD says. It was a homicide

A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer on routine patrol found a body with multiple gunshot wounds along a south Charlotte road, according to CMPD.

The discovery was made around 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, in the 7600 block of Sharon Lakes Road, officials said in a news release. The area is just east of South Boulevard.

Investigators have not released the identity of the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic.
