A report of shots fired in the 200 block of North Tryon Street has been linked to four people who showed up at a hospital with gunshot wounds, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

Conditions of the four victims have not been released.

It happened around 2:23 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, when an assault with a deadly weapon was reported in Uptown, CMPD said in a release.

“Upon arrival, officers did not locate any gunshot wound victims on scene and (it was) discovered that four gunshot wound victims self-transported to a local hospital for treatment,” CMPD said.

“Officers responded to the hospital and are currently speaking to witnesses.”

The investigation required Tryon Street to be closed in both directions early Monday, officials said.

Identities of the four gunshot victims have not been released.
