2 injured in assault at apartment complex

A person was struck in the head with a baseball bat and at least one apartment was struck by bullets during an incident in east Charlotte Tuesday.

Police responded around 4:15 p.m. to an apartment complex on the 7300 block of Rose Terrace Court, near East W.T. Harris Boulevard.

Officers say an unknown person fired a weapon, hitting at least one of the units, before leaving the scene in a vehicle. No one was shot during the incident.

Officials did tell WBTV that one person was hit in the head with a baseball bat during the ordeal. That person, whose name has not been released, was taken to an area hospital and is expected to be okay.

WBTV’s Sky 3 was over the scene where multiple officers, patrol vehicles and at least two ambulances could be seen.

Police said they are interviewing witnesses to determine exactly what happened.

No one has been charged in connection with the incident.
