911 call leads to two people with gunshot wounds, CMPD says. One died at the scene
One person was killed and another was wounded in an east Charlotte neighborhood, and police aren’t yet sure how the shootings are related, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
The victim who died was identified as 50-year-old Demetrius Leon Allen, CMPD said.
The shootings happened around 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, in the 8000 block of Trousdale Drive, near the intersection of Albemarle Road and Regal Oaks Drive.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. MEDIC pronounced the victim deceased on scene,” CMPD said in a news release.
“Officers also found a second victim on scene suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. That victim was transported by MEDIC with non-life threatening injuries.”
Detectives are working to determine how the shootings are related, officials said.
