2 injured in drive-by shooting

Two people were injured – one seriously – during a drive-by shooting off the Plaza in East Charlotte.

The shooting happened about 9 p.m. on The Plaza near Milton Road, just across from the Vietnamese Alliance Church.

Police have not identified the victims. They also haven’t said whether they’ve made an arrest or have identified a suspect in the shooting.

One victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, according to paramedics. The second person was taken to Novant Presbyterian Medical Center with minor injuries.

It was the second shooting incident in that area on Sunday.

Around 1:30 p.m., one person was killed and another was charged after a shooting on Blendwood Drive, off The Plaza near Eastway Drive, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
