A man stabbed multiple times in a daylight attack near Spectrum Center in uptown Charlotte has died at a hospital, police said Friday.

Officers found 21-year-old Leashan McBeath in the 300 block of East Trade Street after responding to an assault call around 1 p.m. Thursday, according to a CMPD news release.

MEDIC took McBeath to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police aren’t saying if they’ve identified a suspect. They described the case as “active and ongoing.”

CMPD urged anyone with information about the stabbing to call the homicide unit at 704-432-8477 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tips line at 704-334-1600.
