2 am fight with armed security guard ends with one man dead, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say

A 2 a.m. struggle with a security guard turned fatal at a west Charlotte business, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The man who was shot has been identified as Todd Jackson Jr., 31, CMPD said.

It happened Saturday, March 1, in the 4800 block of Wilkinson Boulevard. The area is home to a motel and a nightclub that stays open until 5 a.m. on Saturdays.

“The victim got into an altercation with armed security and was shot,” CMPD said. “The victim was transported to Atrium Main where he was pronounced deceased.”

Investigators did not say if the security guard was injured.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 704-432-8477 (TIPS) or Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
