Charlotte-Mecklenburg police continue to ask the public for help in identifying a suspect in the July 2 robbery of a University City hotel and the later shooting of a clerk at another hotel.
The Rodeway Inn on West Sugar Creek Road in University City was robbed about 7:10 p.m., police said.
About 40 minutes later, the same robber shot a clerk at the Drury Inn on West W.T. Harris Boulevard, also in University City, police said.
Medic took the clerk to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s, about 5-feet-10 to 6-feet tall, thin, with short dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt and camouflage shorts. He drove from the hotels in a black 2013-2015 Nissan Versa.
Drury Hotels continues to offer up to a $5,000 reward, in addition to a Crime Stoppers reward, for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
