A traffic stop for speeding in Monroe yielded the recovery of seven stolen vehicles worth $1.25 million on Tuesday, police said.

A Monroe Police Department officer pulled over Stefan Willi Huewe, 56, at 7 a.m. for speeding, and arrested him after realizing Huewe was driving a vehicle stolen in Orlando, Florida, in 2021.

Huewe was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, displaying a fictitious registration plate, speeding and felony chop shop activity in Union County.

He was charged possession of a stolen motor vehicle in Stanly County.

A search warrant said he was in possession of a stolen 2022 Jeep.

Officers learned Huewe, of Fort Mill, was the owner of All PRO Fleet & Auto Services in Albemarle. Officers contacted the state DMV’s License and Theft Bureau and the National Insurance Crime Bureau to get a search warrant for the business.

The stolen vehicles and other property were found at the business, police said.

Huewe posted a $3,500 secured bond in Stanly County and a $5,000 secured bond in Union County. He was released from the Union County Detention Center, police said.
