A doctor gave up his medical license after being arrested on felony secret peeping charges in two North Carolina counties, a sheriff said Tuesday.

Iredell County sheriff’s investigators charged 31-year-old Statesville resident Richard Dean Jordan with seven counts of felony secret peeping, Sheriff Darren Campbell said.

Jordan was already in custody on similar charges in neighboring Alexander County, according to a news release by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

The Iredell County charges involved a hidden camera placed in the bathroom of a family member’s home, Campbell said.

Jordan appeared before an Alexander County magistrate and was given a $70,000 secured bond on the new charges.

Jordan received his license to practice medicine in 2023 and completed his residency in pathology in 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, Campbell said.

He surrendered his license on April 10, the sheriff said.
