Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have made a second arrest in a homicide investigation of a man found dead in his home near Lake Wylie.

Police said Tardra Bouknight was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and kidnapping among other crimes.

Bouknight, 31, is the second man arrested by police in connection with the death of David Doyle Jr.

Peter Gould Jr. was arrested last week.

Police offered little details about the crime.

However, an arrest report obtained by the Observer said Doyle possibly died of internal injuries. The report also said that Doyle’s assailants used several different weapons on him, including something to burn him, a blunt object, hands and teeth. He was also asphyxiated.

The report said the incident at Doyle’s house on Plantation Woods Drive lasted for 19 hours.
