Man shoots at pair who broke into his home

A Merryvale Lane resident came home to find two people inside and shot at both of them. The suspects fled, police said. One fled on foot and another in a vehicle.

Police then received a call about an accident at the intersection Sam Wilson and Old Dowd roads, where they found a vehicle in the middle of the street and the driver – a suspect in the breaking and entering on Merryvale – with a life-threatening gun shot wound, according to police.

The other suspect, who was on foot, was caught a short time later after a 911 call from a resident, according to police.
