Police make 3rd arrest in homicide near Lake Wylie

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police on Thursday arrested a third man in connection with the murder of David Doyle Jr.

Daniel Blakeney, 35, is charged with murder, two counts of an assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, kidnapping and larceny of auto, among other charges, police said.

Police arrested Tardra Bouknight Wednesday and Peter Gould Jr. last week. Both men were charged with murder.

Doyle was killed July 19 at his home on Plantation Woods Drive, according to police. An arrest report for Bouknight says Doyle’s vehicle was stolen by suspects.

According to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle, Doyle was the co-owner of a car dealership in Cheyenne, the state’s capital.
