A 911 call reporting an assault led police officers to two bodies in a Charlotte residential neighborhood, according to investigators.

The discovery was made around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, in the 4200 block of Oakwood Road, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said in a news release. The neighborhood is just west of Ribbonwalk Nature Preserve in the Nevin community.

The victims, who were shot, have been identified as Caleb Johnson, 23, and Prince Tribble, 32, CMPD said.

“There was apparently some sort of altercation with some individuals in the front yard and things escalated, resulting in this unfortunate outcome,” CMPD Major Ryan Kendall said at a news conference shared by WSOC.

The two men were found in the front yard of a home, the station said.

Details of a suspect have not been released.

“Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-8477 (TIPS) and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective,” CMPD said. Anonymous tips can be offered through Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
