One dead in afternoon stabbing along commercial strip near I-85, CMPD says
A fatal stabbing happened in broad daylight near a busy Interstate 85 intersection, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
The assault was reported around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the 5100 block of Reagan Drive, CMPD said in a news release. Reagan Drive parallels the interstate in north Charlotte.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim who sustained a stab wound. The victim was transported by MEDIC to a nearby hospital and pronounced deceased by medical staff shortly after,” CMPD said.
The man has been identified as 34-year-old Timothy James Brown, officials said. He was found near a Days Inn at intersection of Reagan Drive and West Sugar Creek Road, WSOC reports.
Details of a suspect have not been released.
