Charlotte’s latest homicide linked to parking lot of daycare, reports say

A man found with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a southeast Charlotte daycare has become the city’s latest homicide, according to media outlets.

He has been identified as 44-year-old Albert Lowery, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said in a case update.

It happened around 3 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, in 2300 block of North Sharon Amity Road.

“Officers discovered one victim who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. The individual was transported by MEDIC to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries,” CMPD said.

The investigation is centered in the parking lot of a 24-hour daycare center, were “bullet holes were seen in the front windshield of a car,” WSOC reports. The business was identified as Tender Hearts Child Care by WCNC.

Details of a suspect have not been released.
