Marshville woman accused of abusing her infant
A 37-year-old Marshville woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the abuse of her infant who suffered traumatic brain injuries, Union County sheriff’s investigators said.
Tamika Latonya Horne was charged Monday with felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury. Horne was jailed on a $250,000 bail and has a first court appearance Sept. 14.
Last Wednesday night, deputies and EMS workers responded to a medical call involving a child in a home in the 2200 block of Hasty Road in Marshville and found the infant in cardiac arrest.
The infant was taken to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte and remains there in critical condition, investigators said.
