A homicide involving “unspecified trauma” is under investigation at a University City apartment community, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The identity of the person remains unknown, police said in a social media post.

Police were summoned around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, to the 1500 block of Kirk Farm Lane, CMPD said in a news release. The apartments are just off East W.T. Harris near Old Concord Road, maps show.

“Officers responded to an assist Medic call (and) discovered one victim with life-threatening injuries who had sustained unspecified trauma,” CMPD said.

“Apparently, a passerby located an unresponsive male just off the parking lot. ... Unfortunately, that male was pronounced deceased on scene.”

It’s not known if the male lived in the apartment community, officials said.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the CMPD Homicide Unit at 704-432-8477 (TIPS) and speak directly to detective. Anonymous tips can be provided through Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
