Homicide discovered when caller reports an assault at 2:30 a.m., CMPD says

A 911 call at 2:30 a.m. on New Year’s Eve led police to a body in northwest Charlotte, according Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The person who died has been identified as 31-year-old Quentin Stowe, CMPD said in an update.

He was found in the 2700 block of Rozzelles Ferry Road, “near the Capitaine Bar and Grill,” WSOC reports. The bar closed at midnight, according to its website.

“Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim who sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene,” CMPD officials said.

“At this point in time, we are not looking for any suspects and there is no ongoing threat.”

Details of a suspect have not been released.
