For the fourth time in six months, someone has been killed on Atando Avenue in Charlotte, and this time it happened during rush hour, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The most recent shooting was discovered around 4 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Atando Avenue, just off North Tryon Street, police said in a Feb. 10 news release.

Bradley Reid, 37, was taken to a hospital and died the next day.

Reid, a father of four, was struck in the head when someone fired shots into his Lexus, according to WSOC. One witness told the station at least five shots were heard.

Investigators did not say what they believe led to the shooting or why Reid was in the area. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the CMPD Homicide Unit at 704-432-8477 (TIPS).

The three previous homicides occurred before dawn Sept. 7 and Nov. 30, according to CMPD news releases.

On Sunday, Nov. 30, Glenntavis McCorey, 44, and D’andre Weaver, 29, were shot around 4:45 a.m. near the Queens Cabaret, a strip club in the 100 block. Weaver was an employee of the club, Queens Cabaret reported in a social media post.

On Sunday, Sept. 7, two people were shot round 2:45 a.m. in the 200 block and one died at a hospital, CMPD said. The man who died was identified as Jan Keneth Meza Figueroa, 18, officials said. “An additional victim self-transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” CMPD said.

Jesus Narvaez Hernandez, 17, has been identified as a suspect in the Sept. 7 shooting, CMPD said in an update.

A fifth homicide occurred in 100 block of Atando Avenue on April 29, 2023, according to CMPD records. The victim was identified as Nicholas Davon Cole, 26, and a suspect in the case was wounded at the scene, police said.
