Dispute outside Cracker Barrel ends with man run down in parking lot, NC cops say
A 2008 Chevy Impala was used as a deadly weapon when it hit a man outside a Cracker Barrel restaurant, according to investigators in Matthews, North Carolina.
The incident happened just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at 9330 East Independence, and the man remains hospitalized, Matthews police said in a Feb. 19 news release.
“The Union County Sheriff’s Office ... located an injured man in need of medical treatment. ... It was later discovered that the man was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot,” police said. “Due to the severity of his injuries, the man was airlifted for medical treatment and is now listed in stable condition.”
An investigation determined the vehicle was driven by Anna Luree Lippincott, who was in the midst of “a domestic dispute” with the victim, police said.
Lippincott, 28, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, officials said. Court records show she lives in Stallings, about 3 miles southeast of Matthews.
Matthews is just southeast of Charlotte next to the Union County line.
