Home break-in left 1 dead, multiple people hurt, NC police say. Arrest made.

Police arrested a 26-year-old man Friday in the killing of 40-year-old Sebastian Rankin Jr. during a house break-in and shooting in Salisbury Thursday.

Rankin was pronounced dead at the scene of what police described as a domestic incident in the 1200 block of Beard Street. Multiple people were hurt, according to a Salisbury Police Department news release.

SBI, Kannapolis police assist in the case

The suspect was charged with first-degree murder, police said.

The Kannapolis Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation assisted with the arrest and investigation.
