Two killed by early morning gunfire in Charlotte commercial strip, CMPD says

Two people were killed early Sunday by shots fired in a west Charlotte commercial strip, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

It happened just before 4 a.m. in the 4900 block of Rozzelles Ferry Road, which is a block southwest of Brookshire Boulevard.

“Officers discovered two victims with life-threatening injuries who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. MEDIC pronounced one victim deceased on scene,” CMPD said.

“One victim was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased.”

Identities of the two people and details of a motive have not been released.
