1 dead, 1 hospitalized in Charlotte weekend shooting, police say

One person died and another was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a shooting in Charlotte Friday night, police said.

Just before 8 p.m., officers called to the 100 block of West 30th Street near North Tryon Street found the pair with life-threatening injuries, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department news release.

One of the persons died at a hospital, police said.

Police have not named those who were shot or said if they have a suspect in custody or are looking for one.
