Police investigating fatal shooting in East Charlotte

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police detectives on Sunday are investigating a fatal shooting in the 1100 block of Glenfiddich Drive in East Charlotte.

North Tryon Division patrol officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at 7:29 a.m. Sunday, police said. When they arrived, officers found Elias Izagirre Perez, 30, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Perez was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic.
