Police search for thieves who rammed car into gunshop
Rewards totaling $10,000 are being offered in Monday’s theft of firearms from Precision Sports, 4994 Hickory Blvd. in Hickory.
About 4 a.m., thieves broke into the store and stole multiple handguns and long guns, said Gerod King, spokesman for the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The thieves rammed a silver or gold late-1990s model four-door Honda Accord into the business, Hickory police said. Three men participated in the thefts, police said
ATF is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to arrests and convictions in the case.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearms industry, will match the amount, King said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the ATF at 1-800-283-4867 (ATF-GUNS) or Hickory police at 828-328-5551. All calls will be kept confidential, authorities said.
